Kumbakarai Waterfalls
Kumbakarai waterfalls, yet another adventure of nature, are located 77km away from Kodaikanal near a city called Periyakulam at about 8km travel distance in the Theni district.
Less popular:
Completely a breathtaking scenery of the interaction between the flowing water and the rocks and is less known comparatively.
Two stages:
These falls are in two stages. At the first stage, water gathers in huge rocks recess which is variously named after wild animals such as tiger, elephant, snake, etc.., before falling as the main fall.
Origin:
The falls have their origination from the Kodaikanal hills. Tourists enjoy bathing here amidst mother nature. It gives an experience of a satisfactory body massage that makes us feel refreshed. The water has the goodness of herbs and minerals.
Herbal forest:
On the way to the falls, a herbal forest is situated covering almost 5 hectares and is a home for various herbal trees. To have a peaceful walk over there for a while is an irreplaceable pleasure.
Best time to visit:
The suitable season to visit is during the summer.
